Your Company Needs More Than a Website

A lot of companies have finally discovered that the Internet is not just another fad in the world, it isn't going away, and it will never shut down. Website design is a crucial element to provide the consumer the convenience of understanding more about the businesses around them and what else is out there selling or providing a service that they may need. A mass the millions of websites out there, how does a consumer choose what is best for what they are looking for? Does the quality of the website matter? Does the fancy graphics appeal to them more than the words on a site? What about the case studies or list of clients or partners?

All of this is speculative because there really is no way to determine what a customer or viewer is looking for when they approach your website; however in today's world, the key goal is to make sure they find you! It's much easier said than done in this day of age, with companies fighting over key domains that will help their search engine ranking. Now a days, you have so many other elements that are absolutely necessary beyond the scope of website design. Here are a few other factors that a company might want to consider.

Social Media

With the major trend of Facebook and Twitter taking the stage, using these resources to target specific niches is an important factor of letting the world know you are hip, cool, and up to date with the latest trends. Having social media presence is going beyond just setting up an account. It's also important to continuously update it, add spice and pizazz to your profile, and offer promotions so people will either 'Like' you or 'Follow' you. Building this popularity will encourage others to check out your company profile a little more thorough, similar to a popularity contest in school. Are you going to hang out with the loner with one person 'liking' them, or would you want to be around the popular kid who has 100 people 'liking' them. Yes, a lot of us went with being the loners in school, but the truth is we all thought about being popular at once time in our lives, and this is the majority of what the world lives by (which is why reality television and celebrity gossip is so popular).

Blogging and Updating News

Building a site and just letting it sit there will never improve Google's chances of liking you. Google likes images, but it also likes text even more. So making sure you are constantly updating your website's text either through a blog or a news feed will keep Google checking your page to see how relevant it is based on the topics you are writing about. Keep it business related too! Don't write about topics that have nothing to do with your business, it just wastes the space of having a website design.

Reputation and Reviews

People listen to the reviews of others, so making sure you provide a service that can be listed on review sites is an important feature to having your site get the presence it needs fast. Don't think that you can setup fake profiles and start writing positive reviews that really won't match. These companies work hard at trying to make sure their sites stay legit so people keep coming back to trust their product. So encourage your customers to write something positive and give them a reward because of it. Reputation is key in this world, nobody likes getting ripped off.

Conclusion

You know the old phrases 'it takes money to make money,' and 'you get what you pay for,' those two phrases can pretty much sum up the key to establishing a solid website design along with an amazing marketing program. Too many young businesses think they can do everything themselves and do their best to cut corners by missing these major elements of getting your company name out there. But the reality is that you're better off hiring a team of professionals that can get your brand recognized much faster than doing it yourself, that way you can focus on building your business and profiting.
